Previously I experienced reliable internet speeds, around 4.5MB/s, though not ideal for a rural location. Recently performance dropped significantly to about 1.5MB/s with unstable fluctuations between 300KB/s and 1.5MB/s in under a minute. The issue appeared when I switched to the 5GHz connection, which temporarily fixed it, but now it's recurring on all devices in my home. It seems this might be related to the ISP (BT in the UK), especially since no changes have been made beforehand.

Take a break from Wi-Fi, connect the device via Ethernet, run several speed checks—what results do you see? If performance is poor, the problem isn’t Wi-Fi; if it’s strong, address the Wi-Fi concerns next.
