Issue with not achieving expected frame rate during gameplay
Issue with not achieving expected frame rate during gameplay
Good Evening,
I’m still getting familiar with PC gaming and have just upgraded my system with a new motherboard and CPU. I’m planning to upgrade my GPU soon too. But when playing Valorant and other titles, the FPS isn’t what I expected from the research I’ve done online. While on low settings I usually see around 160-250 FPS, before the upgrade I was getting similar or even higher numbers. If anyone could help me understand this discrepancy, it would be really appreciated. Thanks.
Hello there! I've just upgraded my PC with a new motherboard and CPU. Have you reinstalled the operating system after replacing the motherboard?
Power Supply: Seasonic Focus GX-650 650W
What's the age of your power supply unit?
Hardware: MSI Pro Z790-A WIFI DDR4
Processor: Intel I5-14600k
How are you managing to cool the processor in your system?
What components were there before you upgraded?
From the outside, matching performance after a CPU upgrade might suggest the GPU was the bottleneck.
This seems improbable with a 14700K upgrade compared to the prior processor.
Here is a list of all your parts, both before and after the upgrade.
