RAM: 16GB, CPU: Intel I5 750, GPU: AMD 6850, Hard Drives: 1 150GB (upcoming SSD upgrade planned), PSU: 430Watt. System includes a 1Gbit Ethernet port on the motherboard with a network card. The NIC appears to be inactive—driver installation or updates didn’t resolve the issue, and connecting via Ethernet doesn’t establish a connection.

Which motherboard is being used? The Ethernet adapter appears in Device Manager without issues when the cable is connected and without any problems when it's not plugged in.

The motherboard model is Asus P7P55D. The Ethernet controller appears in Device Manager without any issues, whether the cable is connected or not.

Is Windows 10 installed? It looks like there are no recent drivers available for that model on W10, which might mean it isn't functioning properly. I suggest using a budget Ethernet adapter and placing it in the lowest PCI-E slot (the black one). Alternatively, switch your GPU to the black slot and connect the Ethernet card to any of the blue slots. I tried this setup when my old X58 board lost power during a storm—it performed well. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-1000Mbps-...B003CFATNI

You're not connecting via the built-in Ethernet port.

I'm trying to utilize my PC with a local speed of 2 gigabits using the Ethernet connection on my motherboard and a dedicated NIC for my setup.

You're using two PCs and linking the network interface card from one to the other's Ethernet port?
