Issue with new build not responding after sleep cycle.
Issue with new build not responding after sleep cycle.
Hello everyone, I'm facing a strange problem with my newly assembled system. Usually I put it to sleep after use so I don't have to log into all my apps again when I come back. The issue is that when I wake the PC using USB, the wake timer, or the power button, the graphics card lights and fans activate as expected, but the display fails to turn on or seems disconnected. Devices like the mouse light appear to work, yet headphones don't show any connection. What bothers me most is that the system remains powered on in this state for about eight minutes before shutting down, with no entries in Event Viewer—this strongly implies the OS isn't loading properly. I haven't experienced any crashes, freezes, or performance issues since putting it together. This sleep-related problem is the only one I've encountered.
I've tried several solutions so far:
- Disabling Integrated Graphics
- Testing different monitors and USB devices
- Setting Sleep and Display to Never Turned Off
- Enabling Sleep mode and Power Saving options
- Adjusting BIOS settings (7D75v10 → 7D75v15 → 7D75v16 → 7D75v172)
- Using EXPO profile for memory with matching specs
- Switching wake mode from BIOS to OS
- Performing a clean Windows installation
- Changing power supply and CPU placement
I'm still stuck and would really appreciate any guidance from the community.

Navigate to Windows settings and adjust power settings to never sleep.
also just noticed a new Bios update was released August 4th > https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-B650...FI/support
I disabled all power-saving features and set the PC to sleep after completing the current task.
The recent fix for ACPI S3 could potentially resolve your problem. Sleep-related issues from this update are often linked to recovery problems, though it may not be directly related to your case. Testing the new BIOS might help clarify whether it addresses the issue.
I’m trying to figure out if the app I’m using might be causing the problem. If the system auto-logs out after being idle, it could affect saved data. I recall that sleep mode usually keeps information in memory, so when you turn on the mouse or keyboard, it resumes exactly where it left off. This should work unless there’s a mismatch between the app and its saved state. If an app crashes during shutdown, it might disrupt the saved state. I’m considering disabling all peripherals except keyboard and mouse, then resetting everything to defaults and testing. Try booting the PC, opening a webpage, putting it to sleep, and checking if it wakes up correctly. Then test with just the keyboard and mouse. If nothing works after that, it might be a deeper issue.
