Issue with my computer freezing when I start specific applications.
First I realized the problem when I installed CORE Games out of curiosity. After double-clicking the icon on the desktop, the Core games began to run instantly, but my PC would shut down right after startup. I kept trying a few times without much effort since other games worked fine at high settings like GTA V, Valorant, and CSGO. Later, I downloaded Splitgate and launched the game; it logged in and started working normally. However, my PC would still shut down and restart on its own a few seconds later. I think this only happens with games made by Unreal Engine, as both Core Games and Splitgate are developed there. One Unity game also behaved similarly, but the developer didn’t add an FPS limiter, causing overheating and shutdowns. Using an FPS limiter later prevented the crashes. How can I fix this? Please help.
There, even if PSU exists, is there any method to reduce its workload, such as lowering resolution or limiting PSU usage with some software? I only have these items connected to my PC: an RGB mouse and headset, a keyboard, and a monitor (I used a TV for movies and left it on). It has a 1360x765 resolution, possibly due to its size—around 35-45 inches. It’s plugged into HDMI, but the power cable goes directly to the outlet. I’ve listed everything on my PC, so even if the PSU can handle it, can I simulate the load? Please help.
this was a prebuilt hp model, and upgrading the gpu should be possible via the amd driver software.
I didn’t want to spend money on parts because I’m a bit clumsy and I’d break things or bend the CPU pins, so I bought a prebuilt one. This one is already built-in and I didn’t upgrade or modify the GPU. If I manage to control or limit the load on the PSU using that AMD driver software, will the PC shutdowns stop?
