Issue with MSI X570 Tomahawk Black display following BIOS upgrade – unusual symptoms and resolution.
I'm sharing this because someone might be looking for help with a similar issue. My first PC worked after a quick BIOS update, but after rebooting it showed up as a black screen. The monitor lit up but there was no display, and the VGA LED was on, indicating the GPU wasn't detected. I tried resetting the BIOS by deleting the USB drive and rebooting, which finally loaded the updated BIOS. Still unsure what caused this—thought it might have been trying to boot from the USB. Anyone know what might have happened?
Check the system settings carefully. RAM is working at 4133MHz, but clocks need tuning. Look for helpful guides or tutorials to adjust timing.
I'm facing the same problem too! So far, I haven't found a fix. The worst part is I don't have a USB stick connected. I even sent the MoBo back to the retailer who didn't notice any issues and tested it with various graphics cards—every one worked. Right now, I'm using a 980 GTX FE, which always shows the VGA LED, while my old PC runs perfectly fine. I changed the PSU, used just one RAM stick and all four, did a CMOS reset, but it only lasted until I restarted. Then the black screen came back up again. The BIOS is the latest version available.
