I’m not sure if anyone here can assist, but I recently purchased an RTX 3080 and have been attempting to integrate it into my desktop PC, which I’ve owned since December 2020. Everything powers up and lights up, except the monitor fails to display anything. The boot menu appears white on my motherboard. Before installing the 3080, my system was functioning properly (I previously had a GTX 980). I suspect the issue relates to the BIOS, as it hasn’t been updated recently. So far, I’ve tried:
- Reconnecting and disconnecting all cables and components
- Booting without connected drives
- Resetting the CMOS twice
- Using three separate GPU power cables and one y-split cable
- Testing with three different USB flash drives (Lexar USB2.0 16gb split to 2gb, standard Lexar USB2.0 16gb, and some inexpensive USB2.0 2gb from Amazon)
The best result came with one of the cheaper USB drives purchased from Amazon, which has been stuck in flash mode since last night (now it’s the next morning). When I use the other drives, they flash briefly before stopping and turning red. Once all components are connected, everything functions normally—lights, fans, cooling systems, GPU illumination, motherboard indicators, and power supply. I also no longer have access to the 980 since I moved for school.

My PC specifications are:
- AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
- 32GB G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3200MHz RAM
- MSI MPG B550 Gaming Edge WiFi Motherboard
- EVGA FTW3 RTX 3080
- EVGA 750W Gold semi-modular PSU
- Samsung 860 EVO 512GB SSD
- Seagate 2TB HDD
- Toshiba 6TB HDD
- NZXT H510 Case

I believe the issue relates to the BIOS, as I haven't updated it recently.
What BIOS version do you have installed on your motherboard?
You're using 32GB G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3200MHz RAM.
Are you using four sticks? Attempt to use two sticks in slots A2 and B2, then try flashing the BIOS.
EVGA 750W Gold semi-modular PSU.
How long has your PSU been in the system?
Regarding your BIOS update guide, have you followed this tutorial?
