Issue with MSI Afterburner leading to system crashes.
During a short gaming session with decent visuals or furmark, my PC suddenly crashed, the fans reached their maximum speed, and the monitor disconnected. This issue has occurred frequently. Recently, I upgraded my power supply to a higher wattage, which should provide sufficient power, though it still caused crashes. I learned from someone online that using MSI Afterburner—something I never really used for overclocking—could actually lead to instability and crashes. After removing it, the PC stopped crashing completely. This has been stable for two weeks, especially during graphically demanding games where it previously would have failed.
Now I’m considering overclocking my GPU again. The only option I found was MSI Afterburner, which worked initially after some adjustments but crashed again after resetting to factory defaults and testing once more. I’ve tried restarting the PC and reapplying default settings without success. I’m seeking alternative overclocking methods or solutions to resolve this instability caused by Afterburner. Please note this is the latest version, and my graphics drivers are fully updated.
Sorry, should have made it clearer. I estimated my system would consume no more than around 530 watts, while you have a 600-watt PSU.
