Issue with mouse and keyboard functionality using a USB extension cable?
My mouse and keyboard are linked through a USB 2.0 active extension cable that's 5 meters long, with a simple hub containing four USB ports; only two are connected.
I experience significant delays when using the mouse and keyboard on my PC, but they function normally on my laptop.
This issue has already occurred on my second PC, which I recently purchased.
Make and model USB hub?
Does the USB hub have its own power supply?
Which USB devices are connected to the host PC and the hub?

For the entire PC I use just a mouse and keyboard. I’m not sure if it could influence anything, but there’s an HDMI extension cable 5 meters connected to my GPU. The USB hub doesn’t have its own power supply. I attempted to connect the mouse or keyboard directly to the extension cable without using the hub, and the same result occurred. This is the cable I have: https://gembird.com/item.aspx?id=8356. It’s possible the 5-meter cable and my mouse cable together add up to about 90 cm in length.
It might be the length, but I’d also think about the overall quality of the extension cable.
The Gembird cable specifications don’t indicate it can handle 90 feet or 30 meters.
It's odd I managed to connect to my previous computer, but it functions properly. My current PC includes a GPU and SSD sourced from my old Athlon.
