Issue with memory consumption
Issue with memory consumption
Thanks for the reassurance, just make sure to keep an eye on it. I think we'll upgrade to 32 gigabytes tomorrow, which should keep usage under 50%.
With additional memory, Windows consumes more RAM. You might notice usage rising further after upgrading to 32 GB. This is beneficial since more data can be kept in RAM for quicker access.
Recently over the past few weeks I've observed my machine is consuming about 20% of RAM, failing to prioritize games and running with minimal GPU activity. After reinstalling Windows and updating an older GPU driver, the issue remains unchanged. Notably, Task Manager doesn't accurately reflect process usage—I have 16 GB, which is outdated given how demanding games and Windows are now. I remember checking this at idle a month ago and seeing only around 5% RAM usage. Could there have been new problematic drivers or is my RAM failing after a couple of years? If you need more details, just let me know.
