Initial build, BIOS won't update and keeps freezing every attempt. Blocks access to Windows as well because it freezes during boot. Updates from F2 didn't work—tried F5c and F4 but neither succeeded. Device details: Gigabyte B650 Elite AX, 7600x6750xt G.Skill Trident 6000MHz CL36 (4200 MHz at the time). Someone on Reddit reported the same problem; unsure if a fix exists.

Consider skipping the RAM and flashing through BIOS instead. This approach might help if the RAM is bad. I’ve tried a similar setup on a Gigabyte board before; the update steps (F2 to F5b) succeeded without issues. It seems the problem could be elsewhere.

I understand, but it seems like the problem might not be a typical debug indicator. There was no debug light available, so it’s hard to confirm its reliability.

The debug LEDs serve only as a general signal and aren't completely reliable. Even with a POST code, accuracy isn't perfect. I've noticed RAM lights up the CPU, GPU, and memory modules before, and sometimes the RAM LED turns off completely without any illumination. Using a POST code, I've seen CPU mounts light code 55 on Intel (indicating memory not detected), while faulty GPUs complete the entire POST process without stopping at any single code, never showing an image. Generally, they guide you toward the correct issue if the system fails to power on. Understanding the sequence of lights turning on and off, their brightness duration, and the intervals between them helps identify the problematic component. Additionally, if the system starts up, the debug lights don't reveal whether a specific part is unstable. Please remember to include quotes so we receive a notification

I tested this solution today and observed that when attempting to rearrange the RAM sticks to correct the misalignment, the debug indicator would loop through all LEDs before activating the Boot LED. I updated to F4 because it wasn't a beta BIOS, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Updating the BIOS caused the computer to freeze, and accessing the boot menu also froze the system.

It might be the CPU, so I'm going to attempt a new installation.

After inspecting the RAM and reinstalling the CPU, the system reported a BIOS problem and required a reset. It seems the CPU might have been the cause. I attempted to update the BIOS, but the computer froze once more.

The debug LEDs illuminate at specific stages of the POST process, helping identify failures. Most systems reset the BIOS when they sense a CPU or RAM change, which likely triggered this situation. I’d like to try a RAM-less BIOS update instead. Check this guide for instructions—it seems similar across Gigabyte models, especially on a Z490 Xtreme. If it doesn’t help, I’ll keep trying until the problem resolves.

It would be helpful to have a visual signal indicating completion. Right now, only the fans light up briefly, which isn’t enough. Appreciate the effort!
