Issue with low frame rate in nearly all situations
Playing assassin's creed odyssey i can't maintain stable 60 fps at 1080p. My setup includes an RTX2080 Super, AMD Ryzen 3900x, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 4TB HDD, and Corsair RM850I.
What monitoring tools are you using for performance? Tools like MSI Afterburner help track precise FPS ranges, CPU and GPU usage percentages, and other metrics. Keeping an eye on temperatures is also important to avoid thermal throttling.
Also, what is the speed of your RAM? Ryzens perform optimally with at least 3200 MHz RAM speed.
I'm facing the same issue too. I'm unable to maintain a consistent 60 fps across any game. My setup includes a 5700 XT and a Ryzen 7 1700x.
When discussing inconsistent performance, it helps to know the usual range—often between 50 to 70 frames per second, or 45 to 65. If the numbers fluctuate, that’s normal for Ryzens. Share your average and the lowest FPS you’ve seen, along with how frequently it drops. Also, review CPU and GPU usage in MSI Afterburner as before. Choose the game causing the issue and record a short video showing the stats during gameplay, using large fonts for clarity. It’s also wise to run Intelligent Standby List Cleaner while gaming on a Ryzen and turn off any unnecessary background apps. Make sure you have plenty of free RAM, since Ryzens rely heavily on it for smooth performance.
No, FPS lows are comparable for both AMD and Intel models. Please refrain from mentioning Ryzen's without evidence to support your statements.
PBO is activated?
DOCP/XMP support?
System temperatures during workload?
I didn't mean to misunderstand your statement about Ryzen versus Intel. What I said was that FPS fluctuations are common with Ryzen, and there are many examples showing this. I'm not going to search for every video to prove it. Just because you're interested doesn't mean I need to chase them all down.
