BL 2 was available today for $10. I managed to get it. The main menu doesn’t reach more than 1 frame per second, and the resolution is 2560x1440. My GPU is GTX 780, CPU is i7 4790K without overclocking. NZXT CAM keeps the CPU usage under 45% while the game runs and the GPU is similarly busy. Need advice?

BL2 performs exceptionally well compared to other GPUs after the Fermi series.

Have you checked the game cache? I left this guide here so you can try it. It helped me and others too.

I just tried it now. Before you answer, I restarted my PC and was able to reach the menu at 30fps, but whenever I clicked something it would jump back to the BL logo and then back to the menu screen. Keep repeating that.

Disable vertical sync and verify if your FPS is limited. If it isn’t already, set it to uncapped and ensure vertical sync is off. BL 2 is known for poor optimization, so consider lowering it to 1080P and see if that helps. Also, inspect your GPU drivers—try adjusting PhysX settings and confirm your drivers are up to date. Check for any GPU-bound drivers that might need updating.

The borderland franchise serves as the main access point for physx; it must be accessible if it's currently limited, otherwise turn it off.

Updated with 1080p uncapped PhysX on low settings since disabling wasn't possible. Reinstalled GPU drivers; performance remains largely unchanged. The game appears to behave differently when using Windows Explorer, becoming almost unresponsive overall. I can access the start menu but not use the search bar (Windows 10).

Another update: attempted a full reinstall, but problems persist. Launching the game still causes issues with Windows Explorer. When trying to use the search function, I can't type anything, and opening File Explorer becomes unresponsive. Just want to enjoy Borderlands.
