Hi, I just built this setup:

My youngest is complaining about the frame rate being low, it varies a lot—sometimes around 15 and sometimes higher. I tried setting extreme gaming mode in the dragon centre, which helped a bit, but when he bought something inside the game, the frame rate dropped back to 15.
He mentioned my PC should have better performance, but with a Gigabyte Z390 board and an i7 9700k.
Anyone have advice? I’m not a gamer, any tips on settings or improvements would be greatly appreciated!

Ensure the monitor is connected via the graphics card, not the motherboard. This type of FPS suggests integrated graphics are sufficient. Verify that Windows and your graphics drivers are current. The default versions are often outdated or unsuitable. Consider the game, resolution, and settings you're using. The GPU performance may be limited by the CPU selection.
