I managed to run it in 4K at roughly 300-600 frames per second while recording, but the game ran at its maximum settings.

What graphics card are you using? Also, review your in-game configurations—MSAA and texture filtering can really impact performance. Occasionally, the issue might stem from an Xbox DVR.

You're trying to chill out a Pentium for some gaming action—JayzTwoCents here. If the issue isn't overheating, it might be due to a resource leak, too many background programs, or a damaged game file. Consider fixing or reinstalling League of Legends. Does this problem occur in other titles as well?
