Hi, I've seen this problem after updating with KB4535996 from the Windows Update. The laptop starts slower and shows a black screen between the Windows 10 spinning circle and the lock screen. It seems this isn't a universal issue with that update, but it might be specific to your system. Updating with the latest March 2020 updates didn't resolve the problem either. Your specs are Asus S531FL with Intel core I5 8265U, Intel 660P, 512GB NVMe SSD, Samsung 860 QVO, 20GB DDR4 RAM, and Intel UHD graphics.
I can attempt that, though I’m not sure if it’s still there because I’ve already installed the March update.
The update is no longer available since it’s been swapped with the March 2020 version, which removed the March 2020 updates (not security patches). This change speeds up boot time but leaves a black screen between the spinning circle and the lock screen.
