Issue with iPod linking to iTunes Store
Issue with iPod linking to iTunes Store
Hi, I saw an old iPod in your basement, possibly around ten years or older. You want to pass it on to your mother so she can enjoy music or Spotify in her kitchen. The problem is that whenever you try to open the App Store, it keeps saying "Cannot connect to iTunes Store." The same happens when you click the iTunes link. But Safari works fine. When you go to settings and log in with your email and password, the same error appears. You've already reset it to factory settings twice and changed your network settings, yet the issue persists. Why can't you open the App Store now? Thanks for sharing this iPod.
Certainly, it is as you mentioned, the safari browser functions properly.
Likely removed support, so today only you can download mp3 files onto it for an old iPod.
The dates and times appear accurate. Ensure the SSL certificates haven’t lapsed and were not updated properly. You can test by connecting to a desktop and using iTunes.
I remember during that time with iPods and iPhones many folks had their devices unlocked. I don’t know the details of how to do it, where to find instructions, or I wouldn’t suggest linking it online because it’s outdated. To be honest: Spotify likely stopped supporting older devices for security reasons. iOS 7 was released around 2015 and full support probably ended by about 2019. I can’t support jailbreaking and won’t help with it.
