Issue with identifying internet activity.
Issue with identifying internet activity.
Yesterday morning my system was working well, but suddenly during driver updates I noticed issues with internet access. I had Ethernet connections on two devices—my own and another identical one—but only my own had a working link. I checked network settings, performed troubleshooting steps, unplugged the router, and swapped cables without success. Then I opened Command Prompt, tried pinging and an IP reset, but nothing changed. After a full factory reset, I still couldn’t establish a connection. Can you help?
You're experiencing trouble connecting to your router within your local network.
Sure, I can explain. To send a ping to your router, you typically use a command like "ping" in the terminal or command prompt, specifying the router's IP address. This helps check connectivity and speed.
Like, that's all it says? Okay new thing to try. Type "Device manager" in the windows search bar. Open it up and find the tab labeled "Network adapters" Open that section up and attach a screenshot please. Edit: Before we can teach you how to ping the router, we need to get more information out of that 'ipconfig' command. Try my step above first.
Great news, the issue with your Ethernet adapter drivers is resolved. You might not know how it happened, but you can fix it by downloading the correct driver on another computer. Visit Intel's site, download the file, and put it on a USB drive. Unzip it on the affected machine and run the provided executable.
I don’t understand what occurred, but you were a lifesaver. Wish I’d arrived sooner before spending three hours transferring my PC to a hard drive. Thanks again! Hugs and kisses.
