Received a used 4-year-old HP Omen 15 (i7 8750H, GTX 1060) with display issues. Screen flickers even when using BIOS, Linux, or Windows PE. External HDMI monitor works perfectly. Replacement screens cost around $200-300. I’m wondering if this problem might be linked to the motherboard. Is there a way to test without swapping another screen? The video shows the issue clearly.

I completely understood SupaKomputa's explanation. I had a notebook a few weeks back with a similar issue. I attempted everything, even thought about replacing the screen which cost around 150€. In my last attempt, I tried re-seating the ribbon cable, but it didn’t help. After checking the spare parts section, I found a compatible cable and installed it. The display functioned properly afterward. It’s not common, but laptops can encounter this problem when the cable is misaligned and gets stuck between plastic or hinges.

I took a chance and replaced the entire Display LCD. It's functioning properly now. Appreciate all the support!
