Issue with GTA5 online reported.
Hey! I see what’s going on here. It sounds like you’re facing some weird issues when loading online in GTA5. The game seems to crash or freeze during the process, and once loaded, it keeps spawning you at the same spot with just your car, while the rest of the environment doesn’t load properly—like a Nintendo 64 experience. You mentioned being level 12, so you might want to try restarting the game or checking if there’s an update available. If you’re unsure how to fix it, let me know and I can guide you through possible steps. Thanks for reaching out!
The game stopped functioning properly, making it difficult to access online play. It crashes frequently, often freezing during loading or taking an extremely long time to start. I've tried several times—about 15 attempts at least—but the experience remains frustrating. After about a month of trying, I'm stuck and can't get back into GTA 5 online. It seems my save file might have been saved in a problematic location.
You shouldn't run into problems with that version. It could be a faulty installation or issues from Rock Star. Even though I enjoyed the console experience (despite online glitches), I struggled with the PC build for a while. The offline mode works fine, but staying online is problematic—constant loading, crashes, missing lobbies, texture issues. I faced similar challenges and fixed one problem only to see another soon follow.
I'll try reinstalling the game later to check if it resolves the problem. Steam and Windows can't be installed on the same drive because Windows is on its own 64GB SSD, GTA5 is on a 240GB Gaming SSD, and Steam is on a 128GB application and program software SSD... It usually worked fine before, but around level 14 or 15 it started to fail. I'll reinstall now.
Same setup here—SSD for Windows, but Steam and games on the traditional HDD. I don’t believe it’ll cause problems since some people with just one large drive face the same challenges.
I experienced the same issue before GTA V began barking at me, thinking it was pirated. It tried to search for Steam and refused verification, then crashed.
Did you update your social club name or password recently? Your account seemed compromised, so I changed both my password and name. After doing that, I encountered problems. Since the setting was auto-login, it kept asking for verification and switched the game to offline mode. I don’t remember the exact fix, but after some time I restored my account details again.
