Tried the lighter version of the GTAV redux mod. The game loads the story mode but then crashes due to memory issues. Many users with mods reported the same problem. It seems mods might be causing the issue, especially with 8GB RAM. Someone might have a solution.

Main memory usage stayed low, reaching a maximum of 48% in Task Manager, indicating no major memory issue at this stage. Seems like a minor glitch rather than a serious problem... wot m8

I faced the same problem with redux even on a 16GB RAM system. Raising the pagefile helped temporarily, but installing the latest patch from Rockstar caused everything to fail. Personally, I switched back to the original version and miss the explosions.

Located a fix. Save the file here: https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gameconfi...h-r-update. Go to the folder marked INSTALLATION (navitgate in openiv) and swap the gameconfig.xml there.
