Hi everyone!
I created a PC for a friend who’s been having random green screen crashes while playing games lately.
Here are the details:
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- Asus B550M-A WIFI II
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8 GB DDR4-3200 CL16
- Kingston NV2 1 TB
- XFX Speedster SWFT210 Core
- Radeon RX 6650 XT
- MSI MAG A650BN 650W
- Windows 11
So far, I’ve tried reinstalling the drivers, updated the BIOS, run benchmarks and stress tests with OCCT and furmark, and kept an eye on temperatures during games.

Asus B550M-A WIFI II BIOS update information
MSI MAG A650BN 650W power supply details
Age of the PSU
Updating the BIOS
Have you reset the CMOS after flashing the BIOS on the motherboard?
Benchmarking and stress tests with OCCT and furmark, along with temperature monitoring during gaming.
Additionally, please specify the case make and model, the number and orientation of the fans inside, and how your processor is being cooled in your build.

If this happens only during gaming, I would verify the GPU and CPU temperatures while playing.

Hi, thanks for your reply!
I updated the BIOS to the latest stable version of 3607. The power supply unit is brand new, just like all other parts in the build. I haven’t cleared the CMOS yet; I plan to do that later. During gaming and benchmarking, temperatures look normal—CPU and GPU stay below 80°C. I’m using RivaTuner from MSI Afterburner to track temps while gaming and hwinfo for stress tests. The case is a Montech Air 100 MicroATX with three intakes at the front and one exhaust at the back. I’m currently cooling the processor with the stock Wraith Stealth cooler.

Hi,
Yeah I thought about that too, but the temps look just fine, not reaching more than 80 degrees celsius. Thanks for the response though.

Because of a component issue, 80 degrees could be excessive. If the issue repeats, attempt to recreate it without the case cover and with a fan running. If it doesn't occur, it's probably a thermal concern.
