Issue with GPU driver on fresh machine
I recently installed a new setup—i3 12100, Gigabyte H610M S2H board, 16 GB RAM—and am running Windows 10 Home with an RX 570 MSI graphics card. Everything seems to be working smoothly so far. Today I was browsing the web, then moved downstairs for some kitchen work. When I returned upstairs, the PC stopped functioning completely. It seemed to shut down on its own. Upon restarting, my display settings were corrupted and an error popped up warning about a video card driver issue, mentioning a conflict with a Windows Update driver. I suspect Windows Update might be the cause. I tried opening AMD Adrenaline to fix it, but it didn’t open. I’m wondering if I have multiple video drivers installed now and how to remove them properly. Also, I need advice on preventing Windows Update from automatically installing a Microsoft display driver—this has never happened before with my other systems.
