Issue with Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H motherboard
Hello everyone, my desktop has been around for about five years and has served me quite well. It came with a GA-Z97X-UD3H rev 1.1 motherboard that failed at the end of summer. I had to search for a replacement and ended up buying one on eBay. I got a GA-Z97X-UD3H rev 1.2 and was satisfied. However, it has an odd issue – the motherboard only powers up when RAM is placed in the first two slots, or even just the first slot, whereas putting RAM in slots 1 and 3 should enable dual-channel operation. The board refuses to send signals indicating RAM is missing. Besides that, it functions, but I’m bothered by needing to run my RAM in single-channel mode (two 8GB Kingston sticks). Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this? My RAM is Kingston HyperX Savage Red DDR3, 1866MHz, CL9, a kit of two CPU: Core i7-4790K.
Can the device function when memory sticks are placed in slots 2 and 4? Is there any bent pin in the socket?
