32GB of RAM
5700x3D
Radeon RX 5500 XT
I achieve 400-500 FPS on VAL but experience random stutters. It seems to be the only game where this occurs. Any suggestions?
ATTEMPTS AT FIXING:
- Stopped Monitor overclock from 270HZ to the stable 240HZ
- Updated AMD drivers again (not a clean install, just a fresh download from the official site for RADEON 5500 XT)
- Freesync OFF, ANTI-LAG OFF
- ANTI-LAG ON, FREESYNC ON and ADAPTIVE SYNC ON
<Mod Edit>
- Freesync also turned off with ANTI-LAG OFF (it seems to activate automatically)
- Link below shows someone’s advice and stress test results:

Which 5500 XT model are you operating with? Additionally, could you share your CPU and GPU temperatures when idle and during workload?

In the links provided, I'm uncertain about the specific GPU, but there are no bottlenecking concerns. The CPU and GPU are operating within normal-even temperatures below, with CPU staying around 30-35C (LOAD is just valorant, max around 55C) and GPU at 29-32C (LOAD is 40C or higher).

Watch the video at the provided link. It shows in-game stats, and I observed something unusual—possibly the metric "CPU wait GPU time" is what caught my attention.

In regular deathmatches these fps drops are rare. They tend to happen more often in competitive and team scenarios.

I inquired about the GPU since there are various models, some featuring distinct cooling systems and factory overclocking configurations. Understanding these details is important.

I forgot to reply, basically I fixed it. I discovered that stupidly, I am not sure if it's just this model of the GPU but the issue is that AMD graphics cards go into sort of an "idle state" when a game is CPU bound, much like valorant. What solved it for me was MSI Afterburner, disabling ULPS; then, on the AMD program, putting the minimum frequency to 90% and maximum to 10%. Now it runs smoothly, no FPS drops, no stutters.
Only thing that's annoying with AMD is that every time there's an update, I gotta verify if the settings stuck or not.
Definitely will never buy AMD GPUs again tho.
