I recently purchased a new 3060 and am trying to play GTA, but I only get 30-40 fps. I'm reaching out for help.

Your gaming resolution affects performance. If you're using 1080p, your CPU might be more limited than your GPU, which could explain why you're not seeing a big improvement. Moving to 1440p or higher increases the load on the GPU. The 2700x display is an older model, still functional but less efficient than the newer 5000 series AMD CPUs.

What was your previous FPS with the old graphics card?

Did you perform a DDU in Safe Mode after installing the new card to clear all previous drivers before upgrading? This step is advised when switching from AMD to Nvidia GPUs, for instance.

i utilize nearly all my gpu power, which should result in higher fps when discord and gta are running.

I would start in safe mode, used DDU and perform a new driver installation for the 3060 to check for improvements. If you're running full GPU usage on a 1050, you should see higher FPS with the 3060, suggesting a driver problem that a fresh install might resolve.

This demonstrates the steps for DDU, although it primarily focuses on resolving a blue screen problem while also covering the DDU process as discussed.

Didn't see any changes in performance after updating drivers or cleaning up? Couldn't remove the DDU from uninstalling the drivers. Have you considered adjusting your settings to check for FPS improvements? If you don't notice any gains at lower FPS, it suggests the issue is more related to CPU usage rather than GPU limitations. It seems like you might be using 1080p, which could increase stress on the GPU if it's the bottleneck.
