Issue with FPS during gaming? Need assistance? Let me know how I can help.
Hello! I've encountered some FPS issues with my computer. Here are the details: i5 4690K, 3.5 GHz, Asus GeForce GTX 770, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage. It's quite a performance. The problem is noticeable when playing games like World of Warcraft on my main monitor and streaming on Twitch using my second monitor. I experience significant FPS drops—around 30-35 FPS with stream on, and 85-90 FPS without it. Even lowering graphics settings to low still leaves me around 40-50 FPS when streaming. When I checked Task Manager, Chrome consumed about 40% of CPU while WoW used only 20-30%. This varies depending on the stream and bitrate. A friend with a better PC didn't notice such large drops. I've tried resetting Chrome settings, but it didn't help much. The issue seems to happen occasionally, not always, and depends on the content being watched. Any tips or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Viewing high-quality Twitch streams demands significant CPU resources, and World of Warcraft is also demanding on processing power. The performance drop shouldn’t be extreme. I’m uncertain about Twitch’s current operation after they shifted away from Flash (the video still uses Flash), but in Chrome settings you can turn on advanced features and at the bottom under system you can adjust hardware acceleration. Test enabling or disabling it to see the effect.
