Issue with flickering on Black Flag device

So I just bought AC4: Black Flag on the Steam sale. An issue has come up throughout the gameplay where the screen flickers randomly for no apparent reason. Specs CPU: Intel Core i3-4130 GPU: Sapphire Radeon R7 265 RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport Mobo: MSI H81M-P33 Here's what it looks like: EPILEPSY WARNING (i guess) <removed by staff> Any way I can fix this?

This situation hasn't occurred before, but it seems the in-game camera is not functioning properly and is shifting between angles quickly.

This was my first major issue with a game. I tried playing Metro Last Light, Shadow of Mordor, and Payday 2, but this one was the first to cause a problem.

Eventually, after much effort with nothing working, I asked for a refund. It was disappointing—seemed like a good game.

I experienced freezing on a specific area of the game and managed to use the minimap for navigation. It seems the issue might be tied to an update from Ubisoft. Turning off volumetric fog resolved the problem. Does this occur in all regions?
