Issue with file transfer on Asus ROG X570-E motherboard
Hi Everyone, I’m facing a problem that might be linked to my motherboard. My desktop seems to cap at about 8Mbps when sending data locally or over the internet. I’ve tested with multiple devices and can transfer at full speed, but my local server handles 80MB/s with the drives. I’ve updated the BIOS and followed ASUS and Windows firmware recommendations, but both ports on the motherboard give the same speed. I’m wondering if there’s anything else I should try or verify before purchasing a second motherboard. Updated: November 28, 2021 by Dylan101103
I agree, I also used a GB Ethernet to USB adapter and encountered the same problem. The transfer of hard drives on the PC doesn't seem to be impacted by this issue either.
You seem uncertain about downloading or uploading files online, or moving files between your hard drives. Could it be that your device isn't the source and you accidentally set a speed limit? Resetting your router or modem might help, or checking your internet settings on Windows could resolve the issue. There might be an app restricting your speed, or your settings need adjusting. Try connecting to your Wi-Fi directly and see if the problem persists, then test with another phone's internet if possible.
