Issue with file explorer slow thumbnails in QuestionWin 11
I am facing problems with the newest Windows 11 release, which features numerous extensive folders filled with many image files. To improve visibility, I adjusted the explorer to show large thumbnails in the order they were added. Still, opening a folder triggers a progress bar at the top and prevents me from seeing all thumbnails when scrolling. It appears the thumbnails are only created for the page I’m on, and scrolling restarts the process. This hinders my ability to use the explorer efficiently.
I acknowledge that each folder holds a large number of images—sometimes exceeding a thousand—and the contents seldom change. This should allow the system to generate thumbnails automatically, making files instantly viewable. I think there might be a setting related to caching thumbnails that could resolve this issue. I have three drives filled with image folders, some of which are quite large, but splitting them isn’t feasible.
Appreciate any advice!
I had winaero tweaker configured already, but I just added the other app to preload, which assists.
