Issue with dramatic lighting on MSI B450 gaming plus max
I received a PC from my uncle in Florida. After opening it, I noticed the M.2 module was dislodged and lying on the case floor. There were a few other issues I resolved before turning it on, but nothing worked. A red light appeared on the motherboard near the CPU, so I removed the CPU and reinstalled it with the fan properly seated. Despite this, the PC still wouldn’t boot. Now the red light was illuminated, and I tried rearranging the RAM in different slots, searching online for solutions. I’m unsure if the RAM failed during shipping or if there’s another problem. Since my uncle built the machine himself and used the same RAM, it seems possible the RAM is damaged. My current RAM is GSKILL Triden Neo DDR4320 at 1GHz. I’d appreciate any advice on what to do next.
For that board, the RAM should be placed in the 2nd and 4th slots. Ensure it is firmly seated. Listen for clicks at the top and bottom. You can also reset the BIOS by connecting the VBT pins on the motherboard near the small battery. These steps should help fix issues you've encountered with older motherboards.
