I was using a Dell 7490 with Windows 11 x64 early in the morning while downloading a file in Chrome. The computer froze, and I thought it was a simple crash, so I powered it off. After rebooting, I saw a blue screen indicating an unmountable boot device. The BIOS event viewer shows several firmware update failure warnings. I tried making a recovery USB, but my only functional machine is an old netbook running PuppyLinux. I used VenToy to create one, but it’s stuck open. I’m not sure if this was a failed Windows update or if Windows updated the BIOS as well. Help would be really appreciated.

Exploring possible options and deciding on the best move next. It’s normal to feel unsure about repairing a BIOS.
