Issue with current at 9700K temperature!
I’ve changed from a 8700k setup to the much-anticipated 9700k build I’ve been eager for. Swapped out the other motherboard and CPU, connected my 120mm Kraken to the AIO_Pump header, and booted up. The pump is making a loud noise—something I haven’t heard before with my previous build. Plus, the CPU temperatures are climbing rapidly, reaching 80 in BIOS and continuing to rise! What’s happening? Did you refer to the CPU fan header on the previous setup? Perhaps that’s the right one. It seems the system appears to lack liquid components.
Check if the CPU block is properly positioned. Ensure the thermal paste has been replaced. Scrub away any old paste, then put in fresh paste before reattaching the cooler.
The old board was a Strix Z270f gaming rig. It featured an AIo_Pump connector, which I think I connected to. I’m not entirely sure, but maybe I also used a CPU_Fan header. All I did was replace the motherboard and everything else worked fine before.
Adjust the cooler position and reapply thermal paste. Although the pump produces noise, check its performance and confirm it functions properly.
Removed old thermal paste, added more, repositioned the AIO pump, tightened it securely, but the noise persisted at 90+ during BIOS. When checking physically, vibrations were noticeable. Also, testing the CPU_Fan pin recently produced the same sound but at a lower volume.
It seems like you're experiencing some issues with the system. Are you noticing a decline in performance or flow? It might be worth checking other components, like the tubes at the top, which could affect the pump over time by trapping air pockets. Just an observation—no guarantee it will solve the problem.
As discussed earlier, I’m not sure what caused the issue since I only changed the board and CPU. I just moved the pump to the side while making those changes.
