I recently installed this PC over the past six months, but faced problems due to using an older 2400MHz RAM module. To improve performance, I upgraded to a 64GB 3200MHz CL16 RAM. Now I’m experiencing slowdowns when downloading large files into Lightroom. My current model is the 10600. The dilemma is whether to upgrade to a 10/11 generation CPU or wait a year for a 13th-gen processor, especially since my machine is primarily used for photo and video editing and has a 3060 processor available at MSRP.

It depends on the features of the 13th generation. The 12th generation still provides solid performance gains, though you might want to check if your motherboard supports a strong CPU. If you find a good deal on an i9-10900 and your board can handle it, that would be a significant upgrade. If you're patient, wait for better options in your budget.
