My Ryzen 7 3700X in a B550 Pro with WiFi stopped functioning suddenly, even though it worked yesterday. I tested the CPU and motherboard, placed a 5 2600 in a B550 and it worked without a cooler. Then I tried a 7 3700X in a B450M and it also worked without a cooler. But when I put the 7 3700X in the B550 it didn’t work. This isn’t a RAM problem since they were tested before. I use a Wraith Prisim Cooler and ChatGPT suggested the motherboard might be bent, possibly affecting pin contact. The EZDebug LEDs on the CPU turn white when the 7 3700X doesn’t post on the B550, and it flashes DRAM. I changed my case yesterday and it worked fine.

Your motherboard features a Flash BIOS button on the back. Attempt to re-flash the BIOS using this guide; check if your system comes back to life. Are you assuming only the motherboard was updated, leaving other components unchanged, such as the power supply unit? I just changed my case yesterday and it functioned properly. What was the previous version and what is the new one?
I kept all components and switched my case from a MSI Vampric 100R to a Corsair 4000D.
I plan to try the flash bios now.
Why did this occur? The 7 3700x was functioning perfectly before.

However, I’m not sure if it succeeded due to the flashing process or because of the am4 pins connecting to the socket.
I have a Wraith Prisim (clips on the motherboard) and an AMD stock cooler (4 screw style).
I understand the prism could help with temperatures, but I don’t want to risk damaging the motherboard.
Do you think the stock cooler would be sufficient for my 7 3700x?

I believe there could be an issue with your CPU socket or pins, as they might not be making proper contact. Ensure the cooler or motherboard isn't bent. Carefully reinsert the CPU and motherboard, verifying the socket connection.
My CPU and motherboard are functioning properly now. I'm not sure whether to reinstall the cooler or choose a different one, having both a Wrath Prime and a stock AMD cooler.
I would avoid starting up a contemporary desktop CPU without a cooler and thermal paste. Even during diagnostics, I clean the CPU and cooler, swap the CPU/mobo, apply fresh paste, and secure the cooler properly. This approach is much better than hoping the CPU will endure overheating without proper cooling.
Be mindful of the cooler setup. I placed my Wraith Prism in a case and installed a Noctua NH-D14 cooler on my 3800X back in 2019. It’s quite a lot, but it maintains stable temperatures even under heavy load. The cooler weighs 1.24kg (2.73lb) and is substantial. As you might know, I don’t worry about the board warping. The metal backplate helps reduce distortion.
Your 3700X has a modest power rating of 65W TDP, much lower than my 3800X’s 105W, yet I still opt for the Wraith over the standard cooler on your 3700X. A larger cooler would lower CPU temps by several degrees and could help avoid thermal throttling at higher loads.
There are three distinct Wraith coolers available. Which one do you have?
I’m not a fan of the Stealth model. It’s a bit compact. The Spire is a bit bigger and performs slightly better. The Max model comes with heatpipes, which I prefer over solid Al/Cu blocks.
The Wraiths can handle the task, but I personally favor larger coolers with slower fans rather than smaller ones—noisier or not. It’s a matter of personal preference.
Thank you for the clear update, currently I'm operating with a wraith stealth on my 3700x, managing about 50 degrees of freedom while browsing. Does this indicate that adding Wraith Max would be secure? I assumed it caused a minor adjustment.
