The + Undervolting option is the only choice available. The G7 design is quite poor, which is why we don’t suggest it.

You could attempt reverting to a previous BIOS version if possible, but it would be wise to consult Dell's forum or the NoteBookReview community—they have more expertise in this area.

I'm not referring to Dell products; they're not helpful. What people discuss on forums and NBR sites often share real solutions from those with direct experience. In the meantime, consider setting the CPU's maximum usage to 99%, which will disable turbo and cap performance at around 2GHz.

I understand the cause behind this problem. Dell introduced a system with Hybrid Power Mode, which works well for demanding tasks on compatible devices. The Dell G7 7588 shares this behavior. I personally use a G7 7588 with an Intel i7-8750H and 10GB RAM. It doesn’t overheat to 0.8GHz because the power supply isn’t providing enough energy, so it conserves battery life. The fix is simple: upgrade to a 180W power adapter. This should resolve the issue entirely. Good news—Dell has stopped producing this model, so you won’t face this again. My recommended workaround is to limit CPU power via Intel XTU and turn off the integrated HD 630 graphics in Task Manager on Windows 10 or 11.
