I bought a chromebook for my grandparents to assist them with online tasks. Some research showed Chrome Remote Desktop could let me connect to their desktop remotely, which would help with any problems they faced. The installation seemed straightforward, but it didn’t actually function properly. An extension reported an error saying it was outdated, and it suggested installing the same remote tool again—though that extension wasn’t supported. This made me realize remote access isn’t available for this device right now. Have others managed to get it working? I’d prefer RDP or VNC, but the chromebook’s security settings block those options. My goal is just to view their computer from another machine, not to run applications on it.
