Hello,
I'm experiencing a problem with my laptop charging (ACER ASPIRE A515-55 series).
Currently, the charger I have is still not functioning properly, and I've tried several alternatives without success.

I've already taken these steps to figure out the issue:
- Inspected the soldering on the charging pin (see photos)
- Tested multiple chargers, only the first one (changed a year ago) works, though it requires specific positioning and has a slightly damaged connector tip
- Checked the voltage output from the pin using a multimeter; voltage is present with working chargers but also appears with non-functional ones
- Shared photos for reference

If you have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot or understand what might be causing the problem, I would really appreciate your help.

PS: The battery is brand new.
Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
If I were you, I’d swap the adapter for an authentic one;
NEW Original Acer Aspire 5 A515-55 A515-55T AC Adapter Charger & Power Cord 45W | eBay
Discover numerous excellent new and used choices and secure the top offers for the NEW Original Acer Aspire 5 A515-55 A515-55T AC Adapter Charger & Power Cord 45W at the most favorable online prices on eBay! Free shipping available on many items!
www.ebay.com
Consider changing the power input on the laptop motherboard.
It’s only a matter of time before you damage the board, and purchasing a new laptop becomes more costly than using the adapter and connector together.

Thank you for your response. I'm still trying to grasp why adjusting the power input on the motherboard is necessary when using a charger. It seems my understanding might be off—maybe I made an error. New chargers are authentic.

Hi, to resolve the issue it's important to locate the schematic for your motherboard, typically near the battery. A MOSFET is usually present there, and you can verify voltage levels. If the battery is brand new, disconnect it, remove the bios battery, press the power button for 10 or 15 seconds to discharge all current, then reinstall the bios battery. Reconnect the battery and check again. If the problem persists, you'll need the schematic to assess voltages.
