Issue with buzzing in the CPU on the i7 10700F
People aren’t sure if the sound is serious enough to cause concern. It seems to come from the CPU section, not the GPU or power unit. The noise appears only when the CPU is idle—when I start a game or during stress tests it disappears. I purchased a ready-made build and upgraded the cooler and power supply. The new cooler is a Cool Master ML120L and the power supply is a Corsair TX750M. I also added three case fans for improved airflow. Check the link below for complete details. I’m okay with this level of noise, just want to verify if it’s something I should worry about before my warranty ends. Also, please find the video attached for reference. Thanks.
To address the problem, consider swapping out the fans or simply keeping them as is.
I previously faced problems with inexpensive stock fans, but VRMS might offer a better alternative. I hadn't thought about it, though building a custom PC could mean the motherboard quality is quite low.
Based on what I've learned, when the VRMs or motherboard are under strain, the noise tends to increase with higher CPU demand. Once the stress eases, the sound usually diminishes.
It's possible the issue might be resolved by increasing the CPU fan speed. I'm not entirely confident, but it could help mask the problem. I don't have any coilwhine in my setup—just the noisy fan from a young part (like badly oiled hinges or scratching) on my Intel cooler for years.
