Issue with Brother MFC-J4340DW software and driver installation not completing correctly
I don't know which board this topic is suitable, so I will post it here:
Anyway, this is a complex problem, which I need to explain in details:
1. After Brother IPrint&Scan stopped responding non stop after an update notification, I tried to remove it using Revo Uninstaller.
2. To my surprise, removing IPrint&Scan, also caused the Brother MFP driver and software to be disappear from the list together with the IPrint&Scan.
3. So I tried to manually uninstall the Brother software completely by the uninstall file in the Brother folder with no success.
4. I also tried to manually remove the Brother software by removing all of its folders and by using the uninstallation tool.
5. From this time, every time I'm installing the Brother software by the full package, even if it seems to be complete, it actually fails, and only very small part of the software being installed and no other software installed, with no option for uninstalling.
What I can do to fix this problem?
It appears the System Restore worked partially, with most Brother programs functioning properly. However, the Brother Utilities is damaged, the printer in Devices & Printers isn't showing its correct icon, and only Brother IPrint&Scan shows up among installed software, while no other Brother applications are present.
that sucks.
many times applications will have a "repair" type option available. though it seems often it accomplishes nothing.
check right-click on Start > Apps & Features and see.
you can also just try reinstalling the IPrint&Scan software again now. it might work better since more of the software has been restored.
i would also suggest using backup tools such as Acronis True Image to maintain regular system backups.
i run 2 week interval OS drive backups specifically for situations where windows
self corrupts or other software fails.
also assists greatly during a clean installation.
maintains all application settings and user files so they can be restored after reinstallation.
are they considering a restoration or just a new OS setup?
it’s possible you’re not being charged only for a fresh Windows installation.
you can easily handle this yourself.
even a small assistance would be helpful if it seems like a big challenge;
