During gameplay of Captain of Industry, the screen suddenly goes black and fans spin at maximum speed. This has occurred only once so far. I've tested various GPU drivers, reinstalled Windows completely, and updated the BIOS along with all other drivers I know of. The issue persists despite these changes. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the sound switcher, but it still worked. It seems the uninstaller might be resetting everything. I attempted to reset the GPU drivers using the Windows shortcut (Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B), but no improvement was seen. The small beep during the process was noticeable. My PC specs are: CPU Ryzen 7 3700X, ASUS Prime X570-P GPU, RTX 3080.

You can inspect the event viewer for issues following the black screen.

It might be connected to power issues. Could you check your PSU? (Make sure you re-seat the card and plug in the connectors properly?) Also, consider undervolting the board a bit. Updated July 1, 2025 by leclod

I tried to understand what’s going on. I recreated the issue and it occurred at 16:36:38. After waiting, I pressed the restart button and everything returned to normal by 16:37:30. All the errors seem to appear either before my screen went black or after I reset the system. Since this only happened with one game and not others, it’s possible the problem is related to software behavior. I noticed similar issues with games like LOL, Broken Arrow, Spiderman 2, and War Thunder—no problems there.
