Issue with BF4 textures
Issue with BF4 textures
When I’m deployed, textures load in 1-2 minutes—could your HDD be the issue? For Battlefield 4, would a 60GB SSD be a good upgrade?
You're right to consider the hard drive. It's better to opt for a larger capacity, since the game will expand over time with updates and new maps.
Avoid using an HDD for better speed—opt for an SSD if you truly want noticeable gains. Simple. Affordable Adata 256GB SSDs exist, and one I own performs well. You don’t necessarily need something like an 850 EVO; in everyday use, the difference between SSDs is minimal. However, when paired with a HDD, the contrast becomes stark.
For quicker performance, opt for an SSD. If your HDD is functioning well, switching to a new one only makes sense if you split the drive’s outer area from its inner sections—because the faster rotation speed at the edges leads to quicker access times on that section. HDDs are slow, and 60 GB SSDs aren’t a good value. 500 GB and 250 GB SSDs offer reasonable prices, while the 120 GB model will be more affordable (just per GB). If your issue stems from an HDD, it can’t be resolved by replacing another HDD.
