Issue with B550 model not establishing Ethernet connection
I replaced an old motherboard with my ROG STRIX B550-F gaming board. After turning it on, the Ethernet connection isn’t establishing properly. The cable was fine before, and it supports a 1GB/s speed, which should be compatible. I’m unsure if this issue is related to the latest “Ethernet 2” updates.
Verify the PC functions properly and is enabled in BIOS. Launch a command prompt and execute 'ipconfig/all'. Check that your IP address, default gateway, and subnet mask align with the network requirements. Your IPv4 address should correspond to the router's internal IP (often 192.168.1.1). If the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, ensure the first three octets of your IP match your router’s default internal value. Network configuration varies based on your setup—NAT, IPv6, or Windows defaults to Wi-Fi can affect this. It may take some time to resolve. Use Device Manager to confirm all network devices are active, then proceed to the provided link for further guidance. Consider testing with another cable, port, or Ethernet port if needed.
I decided the update the drivers with a usb (downloaded from a separate computer) but still nothing. Also tried the ipconfig/all command but this is all I’m getting. Getting a WiFi card soon to see if I can update the BIOS of the motherboard aswell.
