Issue with B450m Pro 4 audio output
Hey everyone, I’m really struggling here. I just installed a new system—B450m Pro 4, 1660 Super, R3 3300x. The issue is that nothing comes through the PC’s audio jacks, but when I connect the HDMI cable to the graphics card, it works perfectly on my TV or monitor. I’ve tried removing the NVIDIA drivers, tweaking Realtek settings, and even downloaded new drivers from the motherboard site, but nothing seems to work. Any advice would be super helpful!
Try this approach—may not always succeed. Start by selecting Type, then sound. This will locate the sound settings. Click Open in the top-right corner, then Sound Control Panel. Choose Connect to output jack, select headphones or speakers, and go to Playback. Pick the first option and adjust the settings to test what works.
Only a "Realtek Speaker" remains active, consistently sending audio to its destination, and the volume indicator rises whenever you play sound using it as the primary source.
Try using the desktop shortcut for mouse right click (Drop Menu). Then go to Display settings. Select "Go" and choose "Sound." Just below, under Master volume, look for Troubleshoot. In Devices at the Output Devices section, you should see your Monitor or TV. Click on it and disable it if needed.
Sorry, previous attempts didn't resolve the issue. The only device checked was the Realtek audio speaker, but even after disconnecting the cable, it stayed active. I've looked into NVIDIA and motherboard drivers, though none of the configurations worked. It might be a faulty motherboard, which would explain the audio output. A USB audio card could also help, possibly as a dongle. If needed, I can share screenshots of my current settings.
