I’ve had an ASUS Prime Z690-A board. About five months back I took out my graphics card to move things around. Now, when I attempt to reinstall it, it produces a metal scratching noise. Initially, I thought the case was the issue, so I tried installing it outside the case (open bench), but the sound persisted. There’s no visible damage on the card itself. When I fit it into the bottom PCIe x16 slot, it works silently, but in the top slot, the scratching starts right as the card touches, even before I start inserting it. I don’t recall hearing that noise when I removed it five months ago. I’m unsure if the same happened then. The only thing I remember is that the board has been sitting on my desk inside the case for five months without a GPU. I haven’t forced the card into the slot yet. What should I do?

Based on the images shared, the pins in the PCIe slot appear to be in good condition. Are you certain it isn't just the sound from the PCIe bracket? This meeting/“kissing” this area seems to be a concern.
