Help! My PC won’t start because the USB ports aren’t working. When I use the mouse, it briefly connects then drops off.

Are you using a different mouse? Have you checked all available ports? Could this be an unexpected issue or a fresh PC setup?

The PC is powered on, yet the USB ports aren't functioning. I've tested all connectors and tried different plugs. This model is only one month old from CyberPowerPC. I've looked for loose connections but didn't find anything. It seems a fuse might be faulty, though I can't locate it or detect any smell.

Are you sure your keyboard or mouse is set up in the BIOS? You can test other devices if needed.

They function properly, having been used successfully in the past. I experimented with both wired and wireless mice, as well as two distinct keyboard options.

Keep in mind, understanding someone's reasoning can be challenging and sometimes more context is required. Are the USBs located at the back of your computer? If yes, when you start up can you access the BIOS? If yes, does the keyboard remain functional within the BIOS? Likely you should turn on USB compatibility settings.
