Hi! I’ve checked several things you’ve tried so far: 1) measured voltage with a multimeter on a 500W adapter (normal readings but no posting), 2) switched PSU to a 850W unit (still posts then freezes on bios), 3) cleared CMOS by removing the motherboard battery, 4) swapped the battery back in, 5) removed and reinserted RAM sticks (it won’t post even after changes), and 6) booted without RAM or battery and still freezes. I’m wondering if there’s another approach you could try? Updating the BIOS is an option, but it might cause more issues. Let me know what you think.

Just to confirm, it's not active right now. It should finish within 15 seconds if needed.

You thought you fixed the issue by reseating the CPU and removing the cooler, but it still doesn’t boot properly. The problem seems to be with the cooling system—when the cooler is back in place, it works fine. The BIOS update also confirmed the fix, yet the machine freezes or doesn’t start at all. What’s going on?

Determining if it's a stock cooler or an aftermarket one can be tricky. If it's stock, the design aims for steady pressure; with aftermarket options, you might need more or less. For best results, go handtight and turn just a quarter of a turn. Don't forget to press quote to get feedback.

It’s the Intel cooler designed for my i7 7700. It features plastic standoffs you need to push in. I’m beginning to think the pressure might be affecting the boot process. Right now I’m trying it outside the case, so it won’t touch metal from a bent motherboard. I didn’t notice any bent pins either; there are two LEDs on the GPU slots that are flashing yellow. I haven’t found any error codes in the manual or online resources.

Your motherboard didn’t start without a cooler, and yours isn’t either—adding the stock cooler doesn’t speed up the boot. A cooler with a backplate might help the system reach BIOS faster without freezing.

It could be possible, but there may be real problems with the motherboard socket on your device. Excessive force often damages these connections.
