Hi everyone, I went through your troubleshooting steps and reached out to Asus support. Since it's no longer covered under warranty, they suggested I handle it myself, which is understandable after 30 years of working with PCs. I've tried everything—switched CMOS to clear, held the power button for 40 seconds, and even checked the connections with a working monitor. The screen stays black on both HDMI and DisplayPort ports, even though the cable is fine. I haven't removed the battery because it wasn't visible and there aren't any schematics to confirm its location. I'm asking for any advice or ideas to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance!
The issue stemmed from a misinterpretation of the part number. The BIOS flash failed due to this error. Your motherboard model isn’t needed for this explanation.
When using a CH341a USB BIOS programmer, you should be able to update the BIOS. It needs to be in .bin format, which you might need to obtain from Asus. The CMOS battery is located on the underside of the motherboard, similar to the setup shown for this model: Guide flashing bios with linux link provided.
If direct flashing isn't possible, sending the device is probably your best choice.
Never used a bios flasher and approached with caution, as many people searched for this information. I noticed some interest in checking if the battery is located underneath. I might carefully attempt to remove the motherboard to see if resetting the BIOS is possible by disconnecting the CMOS battery. The mini PC I have is from 2019/2020, so it isn’t very old. Are there any motherboards available that don’t use a CMOS battery? Also, I tried to obtain the motherboard schematics but couldn’t find them.
Changing the CMOS battery won't resolve the issue. The system's BIOS is damaged and requires a reflash. You can either purchase a chip programmer or return the device for repair.
