Hi everyone, I just bought the Asus Prime B450-Plus board paired with an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X. I'm struggling to push the RAM speeds beyond 2666 MHz consistently. I've tested several different memory brands and types, but none improved performance. Since the processor isn't overclocked, the main issue seems to be the RAM speed itself. I've tried Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 at 3200 MHz, Gskill Ripjaw 5 F4-3000C15D-16GVRB at 3000 MHz, and now the Team Group Dark ProTDRED416G3000HC16CDC01 rated for 3000 MHz with DOCP enabled. Still capped at around 2666 MHz reliably. The BIOS is up to date, but I'm not sure what else I can adjust. I'm finding it really frustrating and would appreciate any guidance on fine-tuning the settings. Thanks!

Determine your SOC voltage and adjust it from auto mode to around 1.15V. Once set, you can safely increase it to 1.2V for continuous operation.

The ASUS BIOS settings in the B450 can be a bit unclear. Are you talking about the VDDCR SOC voltage? If so, only applying a voltage offset is necessary if it affects performance. A stock setting is .875V, but to reach 1.2V you’d need to adjust it by +0.3V or +0.4V depending on your needs.

Attempted configuration at 1.15v as advised. 2933 or 3000mhz triggers three reboots before entering BIOS safe mode. 2866mhz works but Prime95 tests show errors after about 45 seconds.

Consider the effort versus benefit—DOCP might simplify things, but manual entry ensures accuracy.

achieved up to 2800mhz, but dislikes anything above it. The 1.39v dram and 1.15v SOC voltage indicate the ASUS board won’t let me set CAS latency to 15—entering 15 defaults to 16, and 14 stays at 14.

After trying various BIOS updates without success, I decided to switch to an MSI Gaming Plus MAX B450 motherboard. XMP supports it immediately. Achieved [email protected] without any issues. Completed a 30-minute Prime95 stress test with no problems and have been using it daily for over a week. The Asus board functions well at default settings and performs adequately if you don’t plan to exceed JEDEC memory limits.
