you've got the asus rog x570 crosshair viii hero with lian li galahad 360 aio, 2 cooler master argb fans and asus gpu. everything was fine until yesterday when you tried to boot the pc. instead of the static blue you chose, rainbow colors appeared and the blue only loaded after logging in. restarting fixed it, but when you boot via cooled mode, the rainbow persists. only the mobo, lian li 360 aio, and the two fans are showing rainbow effects. the gpu itself is working normally in cooled mode, appearing blue. the issue seems limited to those components. you mentioned trying uninstalling and reinstalling asus armoury create, disabling armoury create in bios, and re-enabling it. no other lighting software is installed. the latest armoury create version and the current mobo bios are in place. any advice?
It's perfectly typical. The software launches automatically when the computer boots up or you log in. I'm not sure what's causing the GPU issues.
The configuration for the default RGB settings is available in Advanced/Onboard Devices Configuration/LED Lighting. You may find a comparable option elsewhere. Welcome to the RGB software...
There isn't any configuration here except the shutdown effect, which I turned off. Others suggest disabling fast startup to resolve the issue, but even with fast boot disabled in the BIOS it remains unchanged.
I’ve finally resolved the issue and everything is working now. I have a hypothesis about what caused the problem, but I’m not entirely sure if it was the Armoury Crate. Here’s what I did:
1. Backed up everything before starting, just in case.
2. Removed the Armoury Crate using the Asus uninstall tool you can find online; download it and reboot.
3. Cleared all remaining files and folders, including registry entries. Manual removal was done, but you can use third-party software if needed.
4. Downloaded the Aura Sync Utility from the official site, noting that you’ll need the standalone version. I found it via Reddit.
5. After installation, ran Setup.exe from the main folder.
6. Once everything is set up, Aura Sync might not recognize some hardware after the update. This is why ASUS decided to stick with Armoury Crate. For me, it didn’t detect the GPU and the shutdown happened even when turned off via Aura Sync. But there’s a simple fix: keep both programs in the same folder so the GPU plugin needed by Aura Sync is added automatically. You can back up that plugin in C:\Program Files\ASUS\AacVGAHal and remove Armoury Crate afterward. If you prefer, you can disable the shutdown effect after turning it off with Aura Sync, but you’ll need Armoury Crate to do that.
For my setup, I don’t use Aura Creator, so I’m not familiar with it. Let me know if you need more details!
